Whispers Of The Village is a narrative solo investigation game, where you play as a fortune teller who practices divination by reading the future of her clients in tea leaves.​ After a vision of a catastrophe that could lead to the destruction of an isolated village, she begins reading the futures of some of its inhabitants in the hope of preventing it.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Whispers Of The Village immerses the player in the cosy atmosphere of a caravan, which has arrived in the heart of a mysterious village. He will encounter various characters, each playing a central role in the story. By analysing their relationships between them and interpreting tea-leaf reading puzzles, the player will gain a deeper understanding of the characters and progress in his investigation.

Despite the village's unsettling atmosphere, we aimed to humanise the characters by highlighting their flaws and incorporating reaction sounds for each of them.
​
This project was developed entirely in English. It was also my first production experience using the Unreal Engine, where the team had to overcome several challenges, particularly for UI integration. Finally, Whispers Of The Village has been available for free on Steam, since June 2025.

AS A NARRATIVE DESIGNER
Whispers Of The Village offers to the player dialogues with characters with unique and ambivalent personality traits, which allows them to learn more about their investigation and develop emotional bonds.

As a Narrative Designer, this was the first time I participated in the development of a central narrative structure to the gameplay and worked on the characters personalities and relationships, within the context of a production. The goal was to design a strange but intriguing universe, with unique and humanized characters contrasting with the warm atmosphere of the fortune teller’s caravan.

So, I conducted reference research for the development of the universe and its characters during the pre-production phase, in order to ensure overall coherence and credibility. In parallel with the narrative development with the team, we created character sheets listing key references, their age and backstory, their role in the plot, their personality and main expressions, as well as their qualities and flaws. Throughout the production, we worked closely with the game artists to ensure that the atmosphere was correctly transcribed in the game, both for the environment of the caravan and for the characters personality traits.
