DESCRIPTION

Relive is an adventure puzzle-game, where you play as a small plastic bottle washed up on a polluted island. Embark on a journey to be reincarnated, overcome obstacles on your way and bring the island back to life.​

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Relive offers an adventure that is both abdsurd and comedic, set in a world that conveys ecological and social messages. During his journey, the player progresses from one area to another by making use of the game mechanics and the physical properties of a plastic bottle, such as the ability to spray liquid or tilt horizontally to roll sideways.

Throughout the adventure, the player also encounters various characters represented by waste, who guide them while providing additional context to the story. Moreover, in close collaboration with the game artist, the different environments also convey various narrative elements to the player.

This project was created as part of the third years of studies at E-artsup Lille. It is also available for free in French as a demo, on the Itch.io platform.

WHAT I DO

Producer

  • Monitoring the progress of the project.

  • Task scheduling during the project.

  • Implementation of tools to better organize production.

  • Organization in advance of the various meeting topics for the project.

Game Design

  • Vision holder for the gameplay / 3C aspect.

  • Competitive analysis in relation to our sources of inspiration.

  • Define the character's movement kit and the possible interactions with the environment.

  • Documentation on the behavior of the playable character, for the programmer team.

Narrative Design

  • Creation of worldbuilding intentions.

  • Writing story and dialogues.

  • Writing the levels playthrough and its rhythm through the use of a sequence document.

  • Choice of appearance of different characters according to their backstory, with the character designer.

  • Pay attention to environmental narrative elements being well arranged in game.

Level Design

  • Analysis of our references on the structure and interactions present in the levels.

  • Realization of levels intent documents and 2D plans.
